E-Cell, JIMS Kalkaji in collaboration with ANDC InStart Foundation, IIC and TEB, College of Vocational Studies, University of Delhi, organized event E-PRENEUR’ on November 6, 2023. E-PRENEUR featured a speaker session as panel discussion on ‘Bridging the Skill Gap Enhancing Entrepreneurial Education’ involving ‘Mrs. Geetika Anand’, Founder MOPP & Mr. Harsh Goela & Mr. Aditya Goela, Founder, Goela School of Finance. Various competitions like B-Plan, Market Kshetra, Venture Heist, Money Exchange and ‘Venture Haat’ saw participation of students from various colleges of Delhi- NCR.

JIMS Kalkaji organized PROWESSIQ Training Session for faculties of PGDM & PGDM(IB) on 8 November 2023. Ms. Pratima, Business Relationship Manager, PROWESSIQ provided the training for using the query-based database. The speaker started by how ProwessIQ is an interactive querying system to find companies from the Prowess database.

JIMS Kalkaji organized Fourth Round Table with DCCU University Bucharest, Romania on the topic, “Consequences of Russia-Ukraine War: The Economic Fallout” on November 23, 2023. The experts were Dr. Satish Seth, Advisor to Chairman, JIMS; Dr. Marja Liisa, Professor & Rector, DCCU Bucharest, Romania; Professor Georgeta Ilie, Professor, DCCU Bucharest, Romania; Dr. Neelam Tandon, Professor, JIMS Kalkaji and Dr. Anuj Verma, Director, JIMS Kalkaji. The discussions revolved around severe economic consequences causing a rippling effect beyond the conflict zone.

JIMS Kalkaji in collaboration with FIEO organized National Seminar on the topic, “Implementation of New Foreign Trade Policy 2023: Issues, Challenges and Prospects” on November 30, 2023. Dr. A.K. Sengupta, Fmr. Dean, IIFT, Dr. Ajay Sahai, DG, FIEO and Mr. Mithileshwar Thakur, Secretary General, AEPC, Ministry of Textiles. Addl Director General, Govt of India, Ex-IRS ME, Ex-Engineer NTPC/Tata Motors/Tata Steel were the eminent dignitaries during the inaugural session. Dr. Ram Singh, Professor, IIFT, Dr. Animesh Saxena, MD & CEO Neetee Clothing Pvt. Ltd., Mr. Rohit Rungta, Senior Manager, Union Bank, CDCS, LIBF and Ms. Amla Shrivastava Asst Director, Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH) were the panel members who discussed the scope and roadblocks for implementation of FTP. The seminar was very insightful.

My warmest wishes for peace, joy and fulfillment in 2024.
A new year is a time of starting a new chapter & era. The people of the world have faced and are still facing many bad experiences from the previous year. But people should not lose their hope. Let’s expect that 2024 will bring so many good things in our lives.
Every year brings its own share of ups and downs and we learn from our mistakes and try not to repeat the same. Our students stand testimonial to our efforts and achievements. Our highly experienced and skilled faculties are our biggest strength. We have achieved quite a few landmarks till now and we have set new targets and goals for the upcoming year.
We envisage a great future for JIMS which will be possible only with your contribution, zeal, commitment, dedication which has been with us all these years.

The lecture was delivered by trainers from Digiperform -a digital marketing firm backed by HT Media. While explaining the difference between traditional and digital marketing tools, the trainers stressed that with the advent of the era of technology, it had become imperative for everyone including those from non-technical fields to equip themselves with the digital tools in order to stay relevant.

Cardboard boxes were set up on each floor, for students from different courses, to donate clothing intended for donation. The event was seen as fostering a spirit of positive participation and achieving the NSS goal "NOT ME, BUT YOU."

The Placement Cell organised a guest lecture on the topic "Sustainability of Life at Individual and Environmental level”, on 21st November, 2023. The session was conducted by Prof. Ravi K. Dhar, Director, JIMS, Vasant Kunj, sharing his valuable expertise and knowledgeable thoughts with the students. He elucidated the need of sustainable practices in a person’s life, breaking down the topic at a grassroot level, and exploring the why of it at an individual and environmental level. He also mentioned the importance of mindfulness, and how it has become the need of the hour to combat the short-spanned attention of today’s generation. Sir further discussed the effects of widespread and excessive social use, often as a coping mechanism in a lot of people’s lives, and how it can prove to be detrimental to the overall growth of an individual.

JIMS VK I - ROTARACT Cleanliness Drive
|
Rotaract Club of JIMS, Vasant Kunj, organized a cleanliness drive under their flagship project, “Nurture The Van”, on 22nd November, 2023, at Smriti Van, Vasant Kunj. The event was chaired by Rtr. Jiya Dogra, and Rtr. Ayushi Aggarwal. This initiative was taken to ensure a better and cleaner condition for the plants to grow in, that were planted during the plantation drive. Fourteen members from the club came together to clean the area, and a total of sixteen bags of garbage was disposed off.

JIMS VK I - PARLE Industry Visit
|
The Placement Cell, and the Department of Management, JIMS, Vasant Kunj, organised an Industrial Visit to Parle Products Private Limited, for the 1st semester students of the BBA program, on 22nd and 23rd November, 2023. The purpose of the visit was to provide industry exposure to the students and keeping them updated with the latest industry trends. Students got to experience real time application of various management concepts such as manufacturing, operations, packaging and supply chain management.
The visit involved an animated video about the organization, which included history of the company and its founders, and the product portfolio of Parle and its distribution network. This was followed by a guided trip around the factory, where the students got to see the manufacturing and packing processes of Parle. The visit ended with a Q & A session with the PR team at Parle who took up questions from the students.

JIMS VK I - BIO-DIVERSITY Park visit
|
The Department of Management, and The Rotaract Club of JIMS, Vasant Kunj organised a Biodiversity Park visit to Sanjay Van, for 3rd semester students of BBA program. This educational exploration was held on November 25th, 2023, and included more than 100 students, and 10 RaC volunteers. Mr. Ajay Tiwari, the Section Officer of Sanjay Van, guided the visit, offering insights into the forest's history, flora, fauna, and even details about the water body. The trek became an engaging adventure, unveiling the natural wonders of the environment.

JIMS VK I - Guest lecture on MEDIA literacy
|
The Placement Cell of JIMS, Vasant Kunj, organized a guest lecture on ‘Media literacy’, on 26th November, 2023. Dr. Archana Kumari, Associate Professor at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, was the guest speaker for the session. She explained how information is power, with various factors leading to the building of information, and emphasized on the importance of common types of biases, filter bubbles, critical thinking. She threw light on opinion based information and how misinformation is leads to a psychological impact. She focused on the analysis of critical thinking-think from different perspectives as people process information differently, and thus it is vital to understand the major differences between news and opinion and how manipulation of media is brainwashing the nation targeting specially towards youth.

A guest lecture on “Corporate Etiquettes and Business Communication’” was organized on 28th November, 2023. Mr. Kapil Sharma Kush, a motivational speaker, ICF certified leadership & success coach, and the founder of Growth Momentum Consulting, enlightened the students that understanding and applying corporate etiquettes and business communication skills are invaluable as they transition into the professional world. Standing out as an exceptional employee goes beyond technical skills for which mastering business etiquette can have a profound effect on the professional image and overall success in the corporate world.
