JIMS Vasant Kunj II –– Club Activity on “Code Scramble”
|
|
The BCA Department organized a Club activity on “Code Scramble” for semester 3 students. Thirty students were divided in seven teams A to G and were given the task to Un-Scramble the Code which was given to them for 15 minutes and then implement the respective code in the next 20 minutes. All the students participated enthusiastically in the event in a competitive environment thereby learning to work in groups, managing time and task.

Institution's Innovation Council (IIC) of JIMS Vasant Kunj organized a workshop on “Problem Solving and Ideation” by Ms. Garima Dutt on 24th October 2024 who is a Delhi-based educator, media consultant, freelance journalist, and theatre practitioner with over 20 years of experience spanning new media, arts, and education. She has collaborated and worked with leading media houses including The Times Group, CNN-IBN, NDTV, Facebook, Cheil (a Samsung Group Company), Zee Media, HT Mint and Business Standard, offering her expertise in media, advertising, communications, public relations, and digital media.

JIMS VK1: IIC Installation Ceremony
|
|
The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) held its Installation Ceremony for the 2024-2025 tenure on 1st October 2024. The event began with the welcome of Dr. Ravi K Dhar (IIC President and Director of JIMS Vasant Kunj) and Dr. Meenakshi Narula (IIC Convenor and Head of the BCA Department), followed by an energetic dance performance by Asmita. Dr. Ravi K Dhar addressed the students, congratulating the new office bearers and encouraging them to excel. He highlighted the importance of the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan initiative, urging students to work on innovation projects that benefit villages by identifying and solving rural problems. His motivational message was: "Success goes to those who persist.”

The session was led by Ms. Neetii Maacker, an Innovation and Growth Strategist, who provided insightful guidance on the importance of design thinking in today’s rapidly evolving business environment. Ms. Maacker began the session by explaining that design thinking is a creative, iterative, and human-centric approach to problem-solving.

Institution's Innovation Council in collaboration with Placement Cell & IQAC organised “Just A Minute (JAM) competition to get innovative ideas of the problems” on 24th October 2024 honoring the remarkable legacy of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. Dr. Kalam, affectionately known as the “People’s President,” was a visionary whose contributions to science and innovation continue to inspire generations. He believed in the transformative power of young minds and saw creativity and innovation as the keys to building a brighter future. Dear Student,
We are in the midst of the festive season starting from Oct 2024 and another internationally famous festival, Christmas is approaching for which I would like to take a moment to extend my warmest greetings to each one of you. Christmas is a time of joy, reflection and gratitude providing us with an opportunity to pause and appreciate at the end of year, the accomplishments we have achieved together as a college community.
We have faced challenges but we have also come together, supporting one another with kindness and understanding.
Christmas reminds us of the importance of compassion, generosity and goodwill towards all. As we celebrate with family and friends, let us also remember those who may need our help, whether through small acts of kindness or larger efforts to make a positive impact in our community.
I encourage everyone to take this time to rest, recharge, and reflect on the year gone by. Let us look forward to the opportunities and challenges the new year will bring with hope and excitement.

The Placement Cell of JIMS Vasant Kunj hosted an enriching guest lecture on “Cultural Integrity for Nation’s Prosperity” on 24th October, 2024. The session was conducted by two distinguished professionals from the Airports Authority of India (AAI) - Sh. Surinder Pal, Assistant General Manager, and Sh. Shivendra Singh, Senior Manager. Sh. Surinder Pal elaborated on how cultural values, unity, and respect for diversity foster a harmonious and prosperous society. Sh. Shivendra Singh emphasized that individuals are responsible for making their own choices. He concluded by reinforcing the idea that a person with integrity is always a winner, highlighting the importance of ethical conduct in achieving success.

On October 29th 2024 the CII YI YUVA Club celebrated Diwali with the true spirit of the festival at Shanti Avedna Ashram. This place is home to terminally ill cancer patients who find comfort, friendship, and a sense of belonging through Project Jyoti. The event was filled with activities meant to cheer everyone up and make the festive season more enjoyable for those dealing with serious challenges.

Industry visit to Securities & Exchange board of India was organised for BBA V on 22nd October 2024. Prabandhan, the management club of Jagannath International Management School, Vasant Kunj, successfully conducted its installation ceremony on October 3, 2024. The event was a grand affair celebrating the club's formation and the induction of new members. The ceremony commenced with a warm welcome address by the esteemed Director, Dr. Ravi K. Dhar who delivered an inspirational and motivational speech. He emphasised the importance of management skills in today's world and encouraged students to actively participate in the club's activities. The Delhi Yuva Conclave (DYC) 2024, held on October 5th, 2024 at Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies, was a dynamic event designed to empower the next generation of entrepreneurs themed on “AI for Efficiency, Upskilling, and Entrepreneurship. ”Mr. Venkatesh Maheshwari, Founder of Gyoko, shared his incredible journey of climbing Mount Everest while maintaining a corporate career. Industry experts like Mr Rahul Gupta, Mr Tushar Aggarwal, Mr Anuj Singhal and Mr Rishi Saharia showcased how AI is revolutionizing sectors like logistics, metals, and cyber-security. Teams from five colleges competed to present AI-driven solutions across marketing, finance, operations, and supply chain.

Dr. Nekram Uphadhyay, the founding president of the International Research on Assistive Technology and Accessibility graced the session.
